Here are a few pictures from when Florin went for allergy testing in 2012. He was sedated and then injected with various test substances; the lumps were measured to see what he reacted to the most. He was kept in 'horspital' for 2 days and was sedated for the procedure which is why he looks sleepy in the middle picture! The hardest thing to test for is midge saliva which is the cause of 'Sweet Itch'.
I’ve started this during the spring to get it into my horses system. He suffers from severe allergy reactions and today, he went out naked for the first time in 2 years. I expected him to start chucking himself at the walls as usual when he’s been out where there are flies but I was surprised when he came in and just tucked in to his haynet! It is too early in the season to determine if this is making a huge difference but today it seemed to do the trick. Order arrived quickly & efficiently.
Not quite the five stars we hope for but Sarah has since placed more orders, so we hope her horse is still doing well.
This product which was recommended by my vet has completely changed my horses life this summer. From a cob who is hogged clipped and bathed every six weeks on injections all through the summer and a high dose of anti histamines. He would throw himself against the stable and lay in the field biting his legs until they bleed. He has been on this Herd Leader product Dailey since March and that is all he is on. No itching biting or irritation. He is calm his coat looks great and he seems to be the least bothered by flies and insects. I can’t recommend this product enough.

We took in 2 donkeys from the Donkey Sanctuary that had been living in Derbyshire. We live in the New Forest and it is well known to be an "itchy" place for equines. Within a very short space of time one donkey who is nearly all white and has an extremely fine coat was driven demented by midges. I spoke to our vet and she told me that several clients had experienced the same problem with their horses and they had reported that Herd Leader Respite had worked wonders for them. I immediately ordered some and started giving Susan a 10ml dose daily. I am delighted to say that Susan is a much happier donkey, no more scratching and rubbing, and midge free!

My Spanish horse has always reacted to any fly bites and has suffered from sweet itch for the last 2 years. The first year, while l was on holiday and he was being cared for by someone else, he rubbed his mane and tail until it was bold and bleeding.He was in a sorry state .Herd Leader was recommended by a friend and l immediately started using it. The following year and from now on, l always use Herd Leader. He is fly rugged all summer, only goes out during the day, wears fly spray and has a preventative injections in February. As anyone who loves animals will know, when your animal is suffering you do everything you can to help them. He now has a beautiful long mane and tail, and is so much happier. I would not want to stop with anything of the above and would definitely recommend all of it. Herd Leader is something l rely on and l believe it has really helped manage his condition. The supplement we use everyday for most of the year (as he is so reactive to any bites). The lotion l use to soothe if he has had bit of an itch, usually at the top of the tail or base of the neck. It would be really great if Herd Leader could develop some shampoos or fly sprays to support these two great products so it could be a one stop shop!

I definitely think the respite oral supplement is working, he seems less itchy. I use a rug too and cream on exposed bits and he looks great.

Respite supplement helps my little Sec A pony a lot during the summer months. Although she wears a fly rug and hood most of the time, a few midges still get through, but Respite oral supplement, backed up with the occasional use of the lotion, keep her itch free.

I started my girl on this last summer after a second bout of hives that occurred from bites, the vets had put her on steroids the first time she reacted then on to high doses of antihistamines the second time, but the antihistamines didn’t seem to make the hives go down so I stopped using those and put her straight on to the herd leader Respite, it may have been a coincidence that the hives went almost completely within a couple of days but since using it again this year as soon as the biting bugs started she hasn’t had any issues at all. It pays to start early with the dose I do agree, prevention is way better than cure…. Here’s hoping for an itch free year again. Highly recommended 😊

This has dramatically reduced the amount of scratching my very itchy horse has done. Had thought about getting the injections done but, think this will suffice instead.
